MK 32, new formula Floris 89 soap and balm. A Rooney beehive 2 did the mixing.

    Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #395 2-band Badger
    Kamisori
    Feather Professional
    CWR
    Lucky Tiger AS

The Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #395 2-band badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Kamisori razor with a Feather Professional blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

If I see a water spot or polishing flaw on a @Steve56 razor, I immediately clean the screen on my tablet.

Surprise shave today. This is the other straight I have from my Grandfather. I never use it. I used it very early when I started with straights and felt the edge wasn’t right despite having sent it out to be honed. We all know that newbs can misjudge an edge and I decided to give it another chance. Really glad I did. A fine shave all the way around. A pleasant surprise for sure :happy036:

Is that a new MK32? It looks familiar but different. Very nice!

Hey Tom, It isn’t new to me, but the scales are. It came NOS/MIB scaled in thick ivory scales that were cracked on both sides at the pivot - not too bad actually. Alfredo aka Doc226 made the tortoise Kirinite scales in the MK shape for another razor that I have with him, but he put them on the MK 32 for fun, and they looked so good I kept them on it, yes Kirinite over ivory! I will say that the ivory wasn’t what you normally see on CVH razors, quite ‘flat’ and white with little patterning from the Schreger lines.

Overall the ‘new’ MK is exceptionally well balanced and feels exceptionally good in hand. Kirinite is good stuff though according to Alfredo you can’t make it too thin.

Took some Swedish steel to the hones last night for the upcoming week...
Swedish razor made for Marshall Field & Co. Fun razor for me because Dayton Hudson Corp. was my first stop after the military, and Target and Marshall Field’s was under that umbrella.

By the look, feel and origin I am 99% sure this is a Heljestrand MK32. Great shaver.

Nice razor Tom, and a beautiful brush too. We must be on the same wavelength today, because my choice of brush and soap were very similar.

The razors were doing tomo testing duty, M11 done with an asagi tomo seemed a little bit smoother, but the kiita had a lot of grit in it. More testing of the kiita with thinner slurry I think, maybe some slurry dulling from a lot of grit?

An old rameau sens faux frameback 6/8. I honed it on a la veinette coticule.

I picked up the argasol shaving soap on holliday in France. It has an issue of disappearing lather so I added lea shaving cream.
