What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

That’s a real beauty, Karl! How often do they come up, and what would you say a good price is for one in decent shape?

 

I got very lucky on mine - I’m embarrassed to tell you what I paid (it was a steal.) It seems like they go in the $250+ range - don’t take that as precise, just my gut sense from having watched them until I got this one.

 

A big Kropp this evening. I was thinking 15/16 was big... until Karl’s showed up.

A little different than the Made in England or Made in England/Ground in Germany, this one is just stamped Made in Germany.

Kabban Solingen straight razor. Besides this one I have never seen another kabban. When I bought it I tought it was mislabeled kabrand.

It is shoulderless and very hollow and so very loud.

SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub.

 

Past couple of days, Friodur 14, and today a Gold Dollar 1996 that belongs to a local friend that I’ve been helping go down the honing rabbit hole, lol. I think he’s arrived, the Gold Dollar edge was smooth as butter.
