Enjoyable shave with my Lund near wedge today - I think somewhere I’d read that John & Wm Ragg made these for Lunds. I don’t know but they are wonderful razors. :happy036:

A celestial shave this morning, Le Grelot Coupe Celeste, fresh off a fine Nakayama kiita. It shaved like a butterknife, no sensation of sharpness at all, yet of course it was very sharp. Cream and balm were ABC, and a Keyhole 4 did the lathering. Turn it up to 11, lol.

Some small razor love today. This Lund is Saturday of a four day set. They are what I call midi in size - 9/16 and 2.75” in length instead of the standard 3”. But an edge is an edge regardless of how much steel is behind it and Saturday provided a very efficient and smooth shave :happy036:

    Hot water preparation
    Argan Oil PSO
    Shavemac 2-Band Silvertip Badger
    Castle Forbes 1445 Shaving Cream
    Lund “midi” 9/16 - Saturday

F14 Sub Cero, soap was Asylum Colonia beta 4.1 lathered with a @Life2short1971 ’Buck Rodgers’ two band. A splash of AdP Colonia finished up a great Saturday shave.

How does the face feel and shave from an Iwasaki compare to some of your other blades?

It’s a half hollow so it feels very solid... business like. Honestly feels like I could chuck it across the room and still pick it up and shave. :)
As far as the shave, the grind allows for an easy, comfortable shave. Trying to come up with some comparables, my mind goes to my Staraet and weirdly to my Bill Ellis modified Wapienica. That last comp really should make no sense since the Wapi is stainless, but it does to me.

I swore an oath that I would never buy another razor but damn that red Filarmonica looks nice!

    Yes, it’s a looker @Tedolph I doubt that you’d regret it.

M.K. 31-1/2 - An M.K. 32 that was worn to about 11/16 and not so pretty until I did some corrective honing to relieve the heel and re-shape the toe to something like the original shape. It still smiles a little but I’m good with that. The M.K. 32 ivory scales are quite a nice addition. This is also a ‘dimanche’ or Sunday razor from a 7-day set, so it’s my own version of the Dovo Sunday Shaver. I like mine better.

Cream and AS were Acqua di Parma, the brush was a Keyhole 3. Lovely Sunday shave.

The CVH MK 30 series is something special. Your razor is a beauty! It is hard to explain how they are to shave with, I would say gentle and smooth

Could also be that my grandfather was grinder at CVH. His expertise was straight razors and scissors. That could be the reason that I love the CVH razors, or could it be that they are top notch razors? I really think about if one or perhaps more of my razors would have been made by Grandfather..

Thank you Karl. I think that nothing is as elegant for a man’s razor scales as black horn or ivory.

But the colors are true to the Filarmonica razors and they add some spice to a usually bland ‘tool’.
