Tuesday afternoon shave, first pass Emil A Carlsson, half wedge. Second pass EDV Neiström No.62 full hollow. Emil to the right. Must say I prefer the EDV.

Testing the edge that I did for a friend of mine on a NOS Novodur out of Japan. Soap was SMN and the AS balm was ABC almond. It shaved like a Filly 14!

Inspired by Scott’s (@DaltonGang) latest acquisition...
    C.T. Bingham
    Late F. Fenney
    Tally Ho
    Brush: Van Chase shift knob
Suds: The Sudsy Soapery Lavender & Peppermint
    Splash: A&E Little Fictions
This Rattler grind had a tight window of manufacturing to help with the possible dating of your razor. Bingham held the Tally Ho trademark from 1852-1863. I love the look of this grind.

I love tis design, in blades. I don't have a "Tally Ho", yet, but am always on the lookout. :happy088:

Thanks to @lindyhopper66 wanting to thin his den I wound up with this fabulous Engels Perfection. I haven’t measured it properly but I’m guessing 9/8. Of all the razors I have this made ATG on my upper lip the easiest. Super smooth result all the way around. Shaves like it’s name :happy036:

There is a difference in the generations but all are good until you get to the last one. In the last generation when the daughter took over, the razors became unusable. I have a Doble Temple 13 from Japan that can hardly cut butter. I honed it. I sent it away to be honed and no one could do it.

Catching up a little, took the red head out yesterday for another spin, trying to see if it likes a particular finisher. Today, Yama Dai orihi kamisori, possibly tamahagane.

BTW, the new Czech and Speake shaving soap does not lather. I have a puck of it in the shower that I used today with the vintage C&S shaving soap. The bathroom smells very nice though! 054D05D6-33F1-404D-9C5C-A94FC8035434.jpeg 94007403-F11E-4DA7-8885-D07E51AB481F.jpeg

Do you still have it?? If so, post a pic.
Have you attempted to hone it lately?

Not lately, but I and two others tried. It is a total dud. The steel is not right for gaining an edge, an RSO, razor shaped object.

I just found it to take the photo and did get it to shave arm hair, so maybe 4th time is a charm. I will try honing again. It is Filarmonica Sello Oro Muleta 13.
