Shave #6 for this Filarmonica. Silky smooth 2 pass shave, resulting in a BBS face. Zero issues. The brush worked and felt great, and the TOBS cream was very slick.

Razor- Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple "Muleta"
Brush- JR#262. Ebony/Birdseye Maple. Silvertip Badger knot.
    Soap- TOBS "Sandalwood"
Aftershave- Avon Spicy(one of my favorites). Viking Horn decanter.

If it’s summer where you are, Limon without question. It has excellent conditioning and the scent actually lasts a while.

Agua Balsamica is good anytime but the scent is apparently perceived differently by different noses. Anything from medicinal tonic water to fresh baked Thanksgiving dinner.

Maggards has samples I belive, grab a handfull.

    Cheers,

    Steve

The final of the trio… and this Coticule edge took top billing. Who would have thought a Coticule would work on something other than a Sheffield?!?!? :)

Thanks Gary. This is a modern version, but Bismarck Razor Works was a stand alone company until Dovo acquired it in 1957. I agree, it’s a pretty classy shape. :)

13/16 Coral, a beautiful Irish point full hollow Japanese razor. they’re very well made razors, and the shave was 10/10. Soap was SMN lathered with aa Rooney Super Badger, and a splash of Myrsol Agua Balsamica finished things up.

There’s some new hardware going out for a first drive today. First up, a Le Grelot Coupe Celeste that I was hoping would be a removable blade to go with my other removable blade Coupe Celeste. Alas it is a fixed blade. But I’m fond of old French razors and this one doesn’t have much wear on it other than the finish near the edge. likely from a pasted strop.

And a new brush too, an Omega 11137 boar. Quite a nice looking brush, the knot is good quality and about the right size. Bonus points that the knot didn’t stink and the tips actually began hooking a little after a few washings with MdC and drying in the summer heat.

The soap was Maggard Limes and Bergamot, and a dab of Trumper West Indian Extract of Limes Skin Food knocked down a fine shave.
