One of my first straights and still one of my favorites. Very smooth, very close, just right in every way :happy036:

And a special shout out to Sterling Soap for the very generous sample portions. It took a lot of shaves to use it up - very nice soap :happy088:

    Argan Oil PSO
    Romera Wengue Chubby Manchurian Badger
Sterling Soap Well Dressed Man sample soap

No sorrow, Hans! I’ll be 75 on my next birthday. I had 41 years with her. Thanks for the thoughts, but no regrets on my part, just being a sentimental old man!

I lean towards a vintage German blade on this one… and it takes a great edge. :)

Thanks Jeff, quite easy to make. And the clever thing is the magnet that holds the tail firmly. 4 pounds of force.

Filarmonica 14 Sub Cero, soap was ABC lathered with a 2-band Keyhole copy, and a dab of ABC balm finished up.

The ABC hard soaps come in waxed paper, so I’ve been trying a few different containers and will probably keep it in this burl thuya wood bowl. They’re classy and can actually be had for about the same price as any decent wooden soap bowl that doesn’t stain your soap. Smoky Mountain Knife works has them for $27.

Blast of a shave experience… while the scales went a different color than I planned, it went well with this combo. :)

Hishakaku 500 #2 up today, as Hans said, ‘smooth as a peach’ from the Yasuki steel and a very thinly ground edge though it is a 1/4 hollow. Soap was Savonnerie du Moulin 40% donkey milk, and a splash of Myrsol blue.
