My “second chance” Leader gave a fine shave today. It’s “second chance” since I had a tech malfunction when bidding on a square point version when I first started acquiring straights. This one came along a few years later and I snagged it. :happy088:

That’s correct Tom, have some other razors that needs new scales. Have to consider what kind of material that I should use.

I’m revisiting a past shave this Sunday, 13/16 Coral made by Takagi Riki according to Jim Rion’s old blog, and little is known of them. They didn’t seem that rare, I’ve seen a half dozen or so ‘in the wild’ though many of them are worn. That kind of says that they’re older razors, and that people liked them, as I do. AdP software and a M&F Finest brush did the lathering.

Novodur 14 and MdC Monday. Soap was MdC Rose lathered with an emerald pearl Duke 3 copy in 2-band by @life2short1971 and a splash of D. R. Harris finished up a lovely shave.

Tanifuji Silver Steel, brought NOS back from Japan by Alex Gilmore and scaled in black horn and ivory years ago by Alfredo Gil.

Soap was Savonnière des Volcans lavande orange (it’s mostly orange) lathered with a Semogue Galahad. AS was Santa Maria Novella orange blossom water. The software made a good spring combination.

Yesterday, 7/8 Herder 49, it’s hard to beat a pair of aces. Floris 89 was lathered with a M&F Finest, and Floris 89 topped off a great shave.

Today, 6/8 Geneva Expert, the super thin one, La Toja was lathered with a SOC boar and Santa Maria Novella lavande finished up.

Another ‘lame mobile’, ‘lame rechange’, or removable/exchangeable blade frame back. There does not seem to be a makers name on it. The French seems contextual, so any help from better French speakers than I is appreciated!

The tang is stamped ‘Grand Salon du Louvre— Marseilles’ which probably means an exhibition, maybe at the Hôtel Louvre et Paix in Marseilles. The blade is stamped ‘Diplome D’Honneur - Grand Prix - Hors Concours {Paris, Londres’. This would seem to mean ‘1st place in the honirable mention‘ category (below gold or silver), and hors concours means ‘unrivaled’ or ‘without equal’.

The cream was SMN lathered with a Zenith boar, and La Toja Manantiales Hombre AS finished up!
