So, what you are saying is that you are using a "Convex Hone"?? Oh, what is this world coming to? :sad024:

Sadly yes, but as delivered. No problems, I can hone on them and as usual, if you keep the wear even along the edge, there is no detectable difference to me.

No worties my friend, it’s flat now!

Second test of the woodgrain stone, razor was a Shell 92 Silver Steel by Perfect Works, a really good razor. I followed thin slurry with about 15 clear water steokes. Soap and pre-shave were SMN and a splash of Harris Arlington is a nice spring scent. A Keyhole 4 did the lathering.

The shave was excellent, possibly a little less smooth feeling than the las kiita edges that I’ve been doing, but the fool’s pass was superb. Just slide it across the upper lip and I’m BBS. Maybe next time I’ll forego the clear water strokes and see if that mellows things out a bit more.

Oh, and the stone has been flattened with a Shapton DGLP, the smoothed with a mellow Atoma 600 and tomo slurry with an old wedge.

Clubman Pinaud Lilac Vegetal After Shave

The Arko Shave Stick lathered well with the Jayaruh #424 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Joseph Elliot 6/8 Wedge straight gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Clubman Pinaud Lilac Vegetal After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Second shave with this razor. Not the factory edge I want. I will be taking it to the stones, hopefully, for a better edge. I had a decent 2 pass shave, that left me BBS, but it was a little tuggy on the first pass. Extra stropping helped, but not enough.

Third shave with this Latvian made razor . With a proper finishing edge on it, I can now say it is a great looking as well as a fantastic shaving razor. The blade cut through, like there wasn't a whisker there. I had to do a feel test after a couple of strokes, just to make sure it was cutting. It was just as smooth ATG as it was WTG. Two pass shave, left me with a BDBS face. The Escher Thuringian Stone made this blade.

Nice razor Scott, one question. What does ATG, WTG and BDBS mean?
