    JR Torey - came to me in supposedly shave ready lol. It was duller than an old wood axe that had been sitting in the rain for years. Honed up easily though and shaved sweet as can be. Did not pay much for it so I am undecided as to restoring it. It is just a user

    Glenn, I had it honnend by someone till 30 k shapton (because I cant hone myself yet) and now it has a nice edge.
    Saw his pictures of the microscope and it was terrible all scratches over the edge see pic below. This was the factory edge, you can imagion when I did a test shave it was not nice. image.jpeg
    This is the edge now he couldnt get everything out but it is way sharper and smoother now. Direct from factory/Revisor was terrible.

    @kamp

    Honestly Shave Ready is a really a term that needs defining :)

    From those pics NO that would never be considered "shave ready",,, but if you ask me can it shave, I might have to say yes
    The other issue is skill level, after 34 or so years using a SR I can shave with a pretty bad edge, because I know how to use every advantage in the book.. But that edge would never abuse my Hollywood Face unless it was simply to prove a point :p

    I have said it quite often "Sharp" is pretty easy, Sharp and Smooth takes a little talent :D

    Personally over the years I haven't found any Factory edge that couldn't be improved on, and they have been getting better over the last few years :)

    I'm in total agreeance with Glen I haven't seen a factory edge that can't be improved on, one thing I will say good about Revisor they are some of the nicest razors to hone.

    @gssixgun custom set
    Wade & Butcher near wedge with custom made birdseye maple scales, Amber wedge and brass pins
    Matching hand made birdseye maple handle with WD silvertip badger knot 24mm. Custom set loft also by @gssixgun.
    Proraso red in 1953 Old Spice Shulton mug.

    The brush now smells like a good old broken in badger should. Lol.
    Soak in hot tap water and soak soap. Making brush full of warm water and softer soap. This brush is so soft, and has a great fan. Holds at least enough lather for 3 to 4 full lathering. The blade on the SR is smooth and keen. The scales are a perfect fit and the pins still have that newness rough feeling.
    As I have used both several times, I have found nothing discouraging or that cause concern. Great thanks again to @gssixgun for this awe inspiring experience.

    Nice shave. I'm getting down toward the end of my MWF. Though I'm not wild about the scent it sure is a nice shaving soap. Have a good one.
