So what are the advantage Of such a wide blade?...do you have any pics of the blade before you finished it?

You and me both. I'm currently questing for the PERFECT Sheffield straight to finish of my 14 straight collection (sold off all of my other Sheffs) and a GB in primo condition would be perfect!

I think this is the earliest photo I have of it...at this point I'd done some general shaping. I did bob the tail a bit at the recurve.

Excellent shave this morning. These MeiBner Tremonia soaps are a delight to shave with but honestly I find them lacking in post shave feel. That last statement pertains to me, YMMV.
    Have a good one.

That Bleckmann steel is some of the best special steel the Japanese ever produced. She holds an edge for a good while, I'd bet.

In just a few days I'll be posting on this thread. Dec for me is going to be straight razor month. I'll be using a no tang stamp razor and I'll be trying out a wedge that is being sent to me on loan. Its been a long while since I straight shaved so I'm using a rolls as my training wheels. I'm hoping to only have the training wheels for 6 days per razor at most. I might have one more razor but that depends on if I can get scales on them and manage to get them sharp with my not quite fine enough stones.
