What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Good old Jamie knew I was on the lookout for a nice stubby so he was kind enough to make this one available to me . He also threw a beautiful horn blank should I decide to rescale it, but after receiving the razor I've decided the old scales have served well for 200 years, why change them now. She shaves as good as she looks .

 

I hope I look that good at 200.

 

Rasurpur Western grind kamisori. They just released asymmetrical and symmetrical grind versions in Damascus steel.... but I have 3 razors incoming. Someday.

Mike it's great to hear the old Sheffield Hives delivered a fine shave looks superb and a real pleasure to shave with a razor more than 200 years old, The good thing If you wanted to make a set of scales you have the exact template from the old scales, If you want a set of those larger pins and washers let me know.

who would have thought a kid with the name like Carl Monkhouse would have grown up to be be such a rock star in any circle?
this Blackie razor is awesome. and I say that knowing denizens aren't crazy about the term.
but I'm actually in awe of the balance, sharpness, and maneuverability if this old razor. the spike did gouge me once, but I ended with an exceptionally nice three pass shave.
truly one of the best I've used thus far.

 

CMons are special razors, David, and glad to see your experience with one mirrors my own.
