Someone gifted me this razor, which is asked Damascus Razor Sheffield Steel, but I have no idea where it is really from. It was not really the best shave, in fact it was fairly harsh. It seemed to tug pretty badly towards the end of the shave. This maybe the only time this razor will see some use.

Really enjoying this Greaves. Got a BBS tonight. I don't normally take the time go past DFS but had time tonight and really love the feel and weight of this blade.

I am only 58 shaves in, my thoughts for you so far:

    1. Use really wet lather.
    2. Be patient. If you struggle, stop and just use a DE.
    3. Take your time. Good skin stretching seems to be vital also.

Straight razors are starting to provide the same or better shaves than safety razors. The main difference is less irritation, and the shaves maybe last a few hours longer. The first 3-4 weeks I tried straights were a bit scary, but after that I started to relax and it got better pretty quickly, and it still gets a little easier each day, even now. Have fun with it! I look forward to seeing you learn straight razor!

Hope you get well soon. My wife had her Right Knee replaced about 18 months ago now and we are planning on having her left knee done in June. Good luck take care of yourself.

Well, it's my 5th full shave with a straight razor and it's getting better! I used the same equipment as yesterday. Two passes today and even the chin came out alright. With the exception of a spot I missed on my neck, I'll call it a DFS!
