    Hello TSD.
I think today I had my best straight razor shave so far:

    - Whipped Dog High Mountain Badger
    - Gold Dollar 208
    - Tüff sensitiv Rasierwasser
    - Pinaud Clubman

20 laps on the paddle strop ... and I went straight to business ;) I took @Bama Samurai 's advice and used just a little more water with the soap - I think that worked quite well. After two passes WTG and XTG I had so much lather left that I decided to go for a third pass ATG. And guess what: It worked pretty well! I did not cut myself and the result was even better than my first attempts with a safety razor. I'd say DFS, most areas of my cheeks are BBS actually. The Aftershave stung quite a bit more than I'm used to, but I guess that will improve along with my technique.

I still haven't figured out the correct razor handling around some areas of my neck and the jawline, but I am able to use both hands now without too many problems.

Everyone have a great day :happy088:

Tip for SR care. The strop:
So many times we talk about maintaining the blade, honing and stropping them to keep a keen cutting edge, however, we seldom discuss the actual strop.
The strop is leather. No matter how much it cost $35 or $100 it is the most important tool for the daily wet shaver to maintain his blade. Like the blades we use, the strop must also be maintained on a regular basis. As we make each pass of the blade on it's surface, the strop gathers bits of metal dust. Over time the dust settles on and into the leather. Look at the surface in the sunlight. Tilt it back and fourth, the shiny specs are metal bits left behind by normal use.
As a general rule, I run a damp, clean cloth over the surface then dry with clean dry cloth. Once the leather is dry, I inspect it for "dryness." Leather is skin and needs to be moistened to keep it from cracking and becoming useless. Every couple of months I apply neetsfoot oil and allow it to soak in and air dry. This keeps my strop in pristine condition and gives me a great stropped edge on my SR blades. Strop dressing works well also from what I've been told.
    Happy shaving.
