    This fine baby was the inspiration behind making me decide I had to have an Iberia. That is one awesome straight Lindy.

    It's my favorite straight. I strayed this morning and didn't get as nice a shave. Have fun with the Feon.

    First time I used it and found that it lathered well and the scent just smelled like soap. It was slick enough to give me a nice shave and will stay in my travel kit more for the nice tube than anything else. I would compare it to Arko performance wise.

    Thanks and after using the pyramid touchup, it shaves so light and smoothly.

    Today i used;
    H Boker & Co "Our Unrivalled"
    5/8 extra hollow ground spike

    It got 11 passes linen, 21 passes leather on my custom drygulch strop.

    Three passes, no touch up was required.
    After a thorough wipedown, it got another 21 passes on the leather.

    Keith, I like that soap. Now where did you get that soap. Ocean Grove? As in Ocean Grove New Jersey? It's made in Forked River NJ? Both towns are within 30 minutes of where I live. How do you like it?

    It is Caties Bubbles and ordered from their website. You can just do search for it. It is made in Forked River NJ, well that is what it says on the label and website.

    They call it a 'French style shaving soap,' which is code for they tried to make it like Martin de Candre. It performs very similarly to MdC and I like both soaps. It lathers very easy and provides good slickness and protection. I have the same knock for MdC and CB and that is they can be drying and not as slick as the top tallow based soaps. I solved this by adding a little bit of liquid lanolin while bowl lathering. Then I get all the slickness, protection and aftershave feel of a top tallow based soap.

    I only won one each of MDC (fogère) and CB. The scent of the MDC is much stronger. I prefer to use MdC and CB when it is warm.

    The easy answer to the question is that when this soap runs out I will replace it.

    I never realized that Caties Bubbles was made 20 miles from my house. Cool!
