    An excellent point. A toothy edge is not necessarily a sharp edge, though it may exhibit some of the same behaviors. Sadly a great shave is not one of them. Let us know how she's shaving after honing!

    I will put it under the scope this weekend. When I check the loupe it looked good.... something is strange here given the shave. I will report back after the honing.

    I had a great shave this morning. I put this razor back on the 8K hone yesterday and spent a bit more time polishing the edge. Then 50 laps on newspaper and 50 on leather. And it did make a difference. Much smoother this morning. Nice to shave on a razor you hone yourself. A great sense of accomplishment.

    I gave this one ten laps on a felt with ChromOx and fifty laps on leather. It was much smoother. I did a little cleanup with the Ever/Ready. Nice shave today.

    Today i had some rain time. I cleaned up the new to me Kinfolks Wedge.
    After a google search led me right to a trusted voice, thank you @gssixgun .
    I poceeded to set the bevel on my new wedge razor. I made most of my laps at 45deg, heal forward x strokes, with a slight torque grip. 40 circles, 40 x's, on Norton 1k, reoeated until treetopping. At skin hairs were jumping. On to 4k, then 8. Finished the whole session on Apache Strata.
    Happy ith the results, time for an evening shave.
    Aftr the first quiet pass, i could tell the shave was gonna turn out great.
    Previous shaves with a wedge never turned out very well for me. And I'm normally a fan of the toast buttering sound. This shave was diferent, no totally quuet, but much different.
    And the results, wow, im completely bbs.
    Im very pleased with 20160718_192301_resized.jpg the new Kinfolks.

    Yesterday I honed a vintage George Butler and Co. razor. This is a full hollow ground razor. I purchased this some time ago...and I am slowly working my way through my antique store finds and restoring them and honing the for shaving. This one sings very nicely. Two pass shave...nice and smooth.

    Nice shave this morning. I've always had pretty good luck with hardware razors. This has always been a nice shaver. The Barrister and Mann Lavanille steals the show this morning, great scent IMO. Have a good one.

    Today I used;
    C-MON special 5/8 full hollow spike 20160720_074221_resized(1).jpg
    Recently honed, very smooth edge. While mine may not be a pristine example. These are very nice razors. I'm happy this ones in my den.
