My In-Laws are now convinced I'm weird after seeing me weigh the brush on their kitchen scale

That's okay. I was at a family get together earlier today and I told my sister and brother in law that I use 100 year old straight razors. "You use what??? Like Sweeney Todd?" Then crickets, followed by "how's the weather by you?"

 

I get that response sometimes as well

 

First post shave after surgery last Tuesday I'm now minus my gallbladder thankfully feeling great 5 days gone 99% there I've always been a quick healer.

Today i used
C-MONBlackie hand made 5/8 full hollow spike

 

I took the Dorko to the stones and started from 1k and worked my way up to 16k. It looked good through the loop but another failure. It really did not remove much and I had to load a DE so I would look decent. I will set it aside and the next time I do some honing I will try it again with tape on the spine.

Sunday I needed to get my mojo back so I took out my PRC Damascus. Just what I needed, an excellent shave.

 

This morning I used my AW Wadsworth and got a great DFS in two passes! Very enjoyable!

I had a Super Close Shave Today with My Friodur 7/8th..I Always Get Deceptively Close Shave with this SR & it Swooshes Like a Scythe when Stropped..I Always Nick Myself with this SR for Some Reason..Its Got a Laser Edge on this Stainless Blade & I Don't Use it Enough..

My Brother Sent Me this Awful ARKO Soap & it Burned My Cheeks to Hell..I Wasn't Impressed with the Performance of it any Roads..I Felt the Chemicals & Rinsed it Off after My 1st Pass..I am Not Impressed with Mr ARKO..

I am Dolphin Smooth & Burning all the Way to Hell & Back..

This was my 18th SR shave in a row and I am really enjoying the close shaves I have been getting. The whole process is feeling more comfortable. I have a nice preshave routine and prep, and the soaps I have been using (primarily Haslinger Schafmilch, MWF and B&M Unscented) are ideally suited to SR shaving. I have been honing my own razors as well and I seem to have reached a point where I can get a good bevel, fine edge with a polished mirror finish. I routinely do two passes and achieve a darn fine shave. A third pass would likely hit BBS, but DFS is good for me.

 

On the bright side your sink is clean and smells lemony fresh.
Doesnt arko make urinal pucks as well?
