Next up in the rotation was my Engstrom frameback. I paired it up with a Semogue boar, Stirling glacial lemon chill and store brand aftershave. I love the soap and aftershave combination as it gives me a double blast of menthol.

I did my usual 2 1/2 passes and got a nice smooth DFS! I really like the feel and the results I get out of the Engstrom.

Morning shave. 1 1/2 days growth. It was a very smooth shave, with no irritation. It's always nice not to nic or cut yourself.

Razor- Wade & Butcher Camel Bone Scales
Brush- Zenith Boar Hair Aluminum handle
    Soap- Stirling Ozark Maintain
Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice(The wife's favorite)

I came across a FW Engles at a flea market yesterday and couldn't resist the urge. The scales are in good shape, the pins are tight and the blade shows little wear.

I bought it , cleaned it up and honed it and gave it a try this morning. I did my usual 2 1/2 passes and had gotten a nice DFS!

He had a Boker and an old W&B with a barbers notch and horn scales. Both were in fine shape. He wasn't too negotiable and wanted $50 a piece. I'm going to try again next week as I would like to have them in my rotation.

Shave 14. Trying different grips when it feels like something isn't right at the start of a stroke. My experience so far is that it is better to have an approach that feels right even when you can't see the blade than one that you can see but doesn't feel "right." ;)

I had a very nice shave. The razor could use a little more hone work. Considering it started out in terrible shape... But, I am happy with a DFS.

    Razor- Japanese Yaichi
    Soap- Vintage Yardley
Brush- Vintage Ocean Boar from Germany
    Aftershave- Avon Deep Woods
