John S Holler, The Tower Brand 1800's German razor. I had to hone out chips on blade edge after hand sanding the rust. It comes from a friend in her 80's. She says it was her grandfather's. She gave 2 other razors, but I had to chuck one, a Beau Brummel. The cell rot was dissolving the blade. This gives a very nice shave.

We're sorry Glen. You obviously didn't see the memo. Sadly, your birthday ( :greet002: ) falls during "UGLY RAZOR/GREAT SHAVE WEEK" this year. Your Harner does in no way qualify for UR/GS week.

In the future, all efforts will be made to reschedule UR/GS to a non-conflicting week so you may post awesome razors on your birthday.

    UGLY RAZOR/GREAT SHAVE DAY 4:

Challenge Cutlery "Victor". Hideous hone wear, vastly different blade widths at heal and toe, and I'm afraid the scales will crumble if I try to tighten them one iota. And one heck of a good shaver.
    Williams (vintage ~1965)
Omega 40033 Mighty Midget (Angry Lather Monster is more appropriate for this brush, I think...)

I think this may be the first time I've shaved with the early ebay buy and the edge was excellent.

    UGLY RAZOR/GREAT SHAVE DAY 5:

Rodgers Refined Steel. I figured it had EARNED the patina, so I couldn't bring myself to polish the blade, nor replace the scales, which had clearly been serving as smorgasbord for generations of bugs. It's giving great shaves almost 200 years after its first owner used it.

    UGLY RAZOR/GREAT SHAVE DAY 6:

    W. Greaves & Sons stubtail wedge (Scales broken, finish cracking, blade "well-patina'd". Again, with original scales and pins, I couldn't bring myself to replace them. The scale damage is purely cosmetic, and does not effect stropping or shaving, at which it truly excels.)

Nice wedge. Did you hone it? I have trouble honing large wedges.
