New gear. Love the Dovo Silver Steel Prima. The brush completely sucks, so I will go back to my 20 yr old badger. Love the Proraso pre cream and Thayer's Cucumber witch hazel after shave. My face feels so good. Just one minor nick today. Getting better.

A very fine shave today. I used "Cherry". She's not much to look at, kind of big, and has been used by others a lot. But, she sure is a fine shaver. Two passes, smooth, with no touchups.

    Razor- Vintage Japanese "Cherry"
    Soap- ARKO Sandalwood infused
    Brush- Burma Shave Boar
    Aftershave- Vintage Avon Deep Woods.

This morning I used my AW Wadsworth "Boss" and got a DFS. The steel on this razor is amazing. It really holds a sharp edge.

Nice looking razor. What's the history behind it??

Thanks. There's not much information on the razor, but I have found out that the company was based in New York City in the early 1900's and imported their blades from Germany. I don't know who made their blades, nor whether or not it's Soligen steel. The razor was named after their head salesman, AW Wadsworth, in the 1920's. I believe the company went out of business during the depression.

This razor holds a wicked edge and has a nice heft to it. I believe the scales are made of Bakelite. It's been my favorite straight razor and gives me consistently great shaves!

I've never seen another Wadsworth, so I'm lucky to have acquired it.

Swedish steel? No wonder my razor holds a wicked edge. My razor does have "Germany" stamped on it.

Maybe it's a silly question, but were the scales on these razors when they were made in Germany, or were they added after being shipped to New York?

Tonights shave was smooth, without incident. Nothing but fun with The W.R.Case & Sons "Bulls Eye" razor. I decided to use the Proraso Shave cream, which I haven't used in a long while. With the shave bowl lathering I got tons of lather, that was slick. I do like the scent, a lot too.

Razor- W.R.Case & Sons "Bulls Eye"
    Soap- Proraso Red(Sandalwood)
    Brush- Zenith Boar
    Aftershave- Vintage Shulton Old Spice.
Bowl- Homemade, with raised dots and lines inside.

I like the Proraso sandlewood smell too. My wife said like it was " too old man-ish!" I'm pushing 48 so I guess appropriate.
