Shave 31. The John Clarke was calling to me and this was my second shave with it. This thing is surgically sharp. I dipped the point a little too much on one stroke and it made a nice little slice that took the capillaries at least 10 seconds to realize they had been cut. :shocked003: Because it is so sharp it's a great teacher of a light hand and staying on top of all variables.

This was my closest overall SR shave yet and the alum was relatively mild. It's starting to rival a decent injector shave. :happy036:

    Hot water prep

    Haslinger Aloe Vera Shave Soap
    T&H Wellington Super Badger
John Clarke & Son NEVA 11/16 Bellied Hollow
    Bloc d'Alun
    AOS Lavender After Shave Balm

Tonights shave was very smooth and enjoyable. Three pass shave, just for fun. No nicks, cuts, or weepers. Just smoooooth.

Razor- Vintage Japanese "Canon 500" High Class Chemical Steel(whatever that means)
    Brush- Vintage Boar
    Soap- Stirling Ozark Mountain

Tonights 3 pass shave went quite well. I was able to clean my chin up. Thanks to a tip from @Karl G. .

I really like this brush with my shaving cream. Thanks Doug.

My razor was nice and smooth today. I payed attention to making sure I pulled my skin tight. Big help there. I am still at a loss on my neck. I need to go from ear in.

Have a great rest of the week
    Tom

Kevin..When Honing those Frame Backs are You Using One Layer of Tape on the Spine like a Normal SR & is there Anything Different about Honing them..:signs002:...I Maybe onto One at the Moment..:)

Yes, just like a normal SR. In my experience, most FBs don't seem to be as prone to spine wear as the traditional SRs, making them relatively easy to hone. :happy088:

20161013_152731_resized.jpg loving this Santa Paula, scent is spot on with its reviews. Got it for a Disney trip for my daughter last month, figured it would be perfect for Florida. I was not wrong. The edge on this blade is fantastic.

Tonights shave was buttery smooth. A Tungsten Steel Japanese razor that I had been having issues with was fixed. This is the first shave, newly honed. Two pass silky smooth shave. I couldn't expect better, at this point.

Razor- Vintage Japanese "Towa" Extra Tungsten Steel.(Very hard metal)
    Soap- Stirling Barbershop
    Brush- Semogue 1305 boar
Aftershave- Vintage Shulton Old Spice. MMMM Good.

Here it is a Vorpal that started life as a GD. I did not do the modifications but bought it this way. An excellent shave today.
