Tonight's shave was with a problem child of a razor. I have re-honed it a couple of times, and finally figured it out.
I had a very nice two pass shave, that was very stiff feeling, but smooth. This is a big chunky blade. Almost BBS result, with only one weeper, on a bump, caused by one ingrown hair. I didn't know it happened, until the aftershave went on.

    Razor- Japanese 泰平 TAIHEI 東京
    Brush- B400 by Tom
    Soap- ARKO/Avon Spicy scented
    Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy

I'm still working on my game... Today's SOTD has a slight variation in an attempt to raise the bar... :o

This John Clarke has been one of my favorites but it didn't do it today. Good shave but it took waaay too many touch ups. Must be time for a refresh. Hmmm, stones, maybe I should buy a stone... :signs002:

Yep, you definitely need stones. But, which stones do you have your eyes on?

Something to replace the effect I get from taking a blade to 1 micron film. For now, I will probably stick with the film even though I do need to re-order some. :happy088:

Tonight's shave was with a freshly acquired, slightly restored, and hone razor. It's the maiden shave. I have a wonderfully smooth 1 Pass Shave, with this blade. when I rubbed my face, there was no need to go further. It was a DFS, with BBS in almost all areas. No touch-ups needed.
I highly recommend one of these razors, if you have the opportunity to get one.

Razor- Mayer & Grosh, Barbers Hollow Ground. Toledo Ohio.
    Brush- Vintage German "Oceans"
    Soap- ARKO/Avon Spicy Scented
    Aftershave- Yardley Gold

John Clark & Sons, fresh off the hones. I hone this yesterday and had to abort after the first pass:( I finished with another straight. After re-honing and a trepiditious second attempt tonight.
I'm profoundly deaf and have never understood audible feedback, until tonight's shave. First swipe and I heard what sounded like Velcro coming apart! So far, so good. I started the second pass atg on my neck; silky smooth! The troubles on the hones was definitely worth it:). How's Billy say " a cracker of a shave" :happy093:
