John Clarke and Sons. Fantabulous two pass shave. Sheffield meets Arkansas for an absopositively wonderful edge :)

    Round 2

Tuesday shave was better than I first thought. It was really nice right off the bat. But a few hours later I was checking and it may have been my best yet. So I decided to try my luck again. It did not disappoint. I really like this blade.

This is the strop I got at the same time as the razor. I reconditioned it. There was a bit of roughness on the bottom 20% so while cleaning I gave the entire face a light sanding with some 800. Oiled it up man what a nice draw. Not too fast but oh so smooth.

I think this is the best $20 I have spent on gear.

This is one of my oldest razors but in lovely shape. It's an ivory scaled Lund. It has a wonderful grip with the thumb notch and some really tight and very tactile jimps on the inside of that. Another very close, face-rubbing worthy shave. :happy088:

I've seen of number of blades from different Sheffield makers with the same or similar scales. Possibly these scales were either installed by the importer and/or the Sheffield makers sourced out the scales from an outside vendor.

First shave with this old fella who's about 200 years old. Fresh from the hones ad a good shine up. Three buttah smooth passes. Sharp, smooth, comfortable and BBS . Kinda hard finding a home for my fingers with the stub tail.

My Kiebitz was up next in the rotation. It was a smooth 2 pass experience and I ended up with a mostly BBS shave.

That nasty wicked spike I had that loved to bite; got sent back to the wild:) Even though it was my first straight, I won't be missing it. I have another that never got me. Maybe because the blade has a slight smile.

Tonight's shave was with a razor I use to call "The Ugly Duckling", because it was a complete rust bucket when I bought it. I had a fantastic 2 pass shave after I touched it up with a Surgical Black Arkansas stone. Even going against the grain was smooth. The result was a BBS shave.

Well still no luck with my uncles straight. It shaves ok, but not as good as my other straights. It will just be a family heirloom.

On to my finish passes. Thanks to @Keithmax I have this fine shavette. Yes I said fine. This is WAY BETTER than my Feather. The CJB delivered a great 2 pass shave. Only 1 nick on my adams apple.
I used the Feather Pro blade. I love these blades in my injectors. I now will love them in this shavette.

    Thank you Kieth.
