What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Second shave with the Berkshire Cutlery 5/8. Handy, light razor. Quick two pass shave this evening. I'm liking this razor.

 

Thanks, they were a little ratty when I got them. Oxidized badly and the silver lettering was green.

It has been a very stressful week and a half. I had not shaved since Sunday. So I used my heaviest blade. A near wedge honed by Glen @gssixgun. It plowed thru with no effort. A very nice 3 pass shave.

I took out my no name Soligen razor this morning. It was a great shave and 2 1/2 passes later I was BBS!

This is my first shave with the new to me Wade & Butcher straight. I got it from @mrchick. It was a highly successful shave.

The Jeeves of Hudson Street Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #157 synthetic brush. I did two passes the Wade & Butcher Spanish Tip, I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vinilla. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Another straight, huh? You're not getting a littl case of srad are you?

 

I am 3/7 way to a seven day set. If I get to seven, I will stop.

First shave with a newly honed (my first hone) Fili 12.
Today was all about Sterling, from the brush to the Gentelman soap, As, and Balm.
Wow I have never has a SR shave as close and comfortable as I did today. Minor touch ups with a DE on the chin and neck needed as I am still perfecting the technique.

 

Congratulations! It does feel good to hone your own razor.

Beautiful day today. I have been thinking about a seven day case for my straights, and today was a great day to work on it. I used scrap wood that I had left over from various projects.

The first picture is the bottom of the box with dividers fitted. They are still a bit tight, but I am going to sand down one end to make them fit for the final fitting.



Here I have attached the lid with two brass hinges. The dividers are still not attached.



I decided to stain the case with dark walnut.



I am leaving the dividers a natural color for a contrast. I shall let the case dry for now. I may put another application of stain on it before the final finish. I will also get a clasp for the front.
