    Today i used
    Kinfolk's 5/8 spike wedge 20170420_201320_resized.jpg
Alum was quite warm. I'm nicely shaved. It was quiet, but i could still hear the whisker massacre.

It wa time to use the Kiebitz razor this morning. It was a great two pass shave. I even paired it up with Williams soap again. It all turned out well.

Razor: Portland Razor Co Chimera / Supply Provision Custom 3 dot head
    Blade: Chick
Brush Handle: B-400 The Brush by Tom
    Knot: APShaveCo Tuxedo
Soap: Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber
    Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Alum
    Osage Rub
Aftershave: Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber

Excellent shave this fine Sunday morning. This was the first time I've ever done a full pass with a straight. I used the Supply to knock down 3 days of growth and then 2 full passes with the Chimera. Ended up with a DFS with no blood and almost zero feedback from the alum. I'm finding it easier to find the angle with the Chimera over a traditional straight and will use it going forward. Have a great day folks![IMG]

First ever satisfying 2 pass no irritation SR shave with no touch up.
Red Imp 152 spike tip paired with AoS Oud will be a shave I remember for quite some time.

While AoS and Oud may not be for everyone, I absolutely love the scent and performance. I did a touch up on the SR last night on a 12k. This morning I did 10 laps canvas and 75 laps leather and I received the best SR shave I have ever had. I am mostly BBS with 2 spots (left jaw under the ear and just under the chin) that are not quite so BBS but at least DFS. I left them as a reminder to focus more on the spots next time.

This satisfying SR shave took a while but damn the journey and result was fun.

The razor was made in Germany during the 1950s based on what I was able to determine.

    According to Wikipedia:
Kiebitz is German for Lapwing, it may also refer to:
Interesting of how products get their names:). Either way, a nice razor with an interesting name. Makes for a great conversation piece, which also is functional:)

Congrats on an "epic" shave :happy088:. Keep at it. There will come a point when most of your shaves will be like that:)

I swore the next time I'd post a picture, I'd get all artsy and take a professional looking photograph. Well, that didn't happen, but here is my Hart Steel razor I used this morning. P4150455.jpg

Tonight's shave was with a vintage Japanese Razor. This was touched up on the SB Arkie, and was popping hairs easily, all the was down. It is a somewhat large stiff blade, and it isn't as comfortable as I would like. I will mess with angles more, another time. I had a 2 pass shave, with touchups. Near BBS results, without issues. Its a good razor, but it is still a second stringer even if the results are fantastic.

Razor- Japanese 飛燕 HIEN 東京. Feels like Swedish Steel.
    Brush- Semogue 1305 Boar
    Soap- ARKO/Avon Spicy
    Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

Welcome to the Kiebitz owners club! I think that you and I are the only two here with a Kiebitz. I love the looks of the scales on that razor. The blade looks great too! That steel holds a sharp edge for quite some time. It will soon be one of your favorite razors!
