I used my Genco "fluid steel" this morning. It did 20 laps on my Drygulch strop and was ready to go. I paired it up with some Stirling glacial lemon chill and knock off Old Spice and ended up with a great shave.

Do you notice any effect from the fullered blade? :signs002:

Nope. It does tend to fill with lather during the shaves. ;) Since the fullering process was intended to lighten the overall weight on large blades, it doesn't present itself as a practical application on razors, IMO.

Had a very nice shave tonight. The Regiment soap is some nice stuff. I love the earthy smell.

My French Frameback arrived yesterday with a fresh honing and I tested it out today. Wow, nearly 9 hours later everything's still nice and smooth. This edge is super sharp. The moment it touched my whiskers I knew it was time to stay alert. It was a great shave. Not particularly smooth but not unpleasant either. The alum was quieter than usual and very little in the way of touch ups needed. I'm looking forward to the next time out with this one. :happy036:

Tonight's shave was with a freshly restored, and honed razor. I had a fantastic 2 pass shave. The first pass left me with a DFS, and the second pass was BBS. This is a seriously sharp blade, and the aftershave went on, without a notice.

The Col Conk Bay Rum Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Bunny B-400 Badger brush. I did two passes the Gold Dollar 6/8 razor, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I'm up for that. It will give an excuse to use mine more.

My Genco vanadium was up next in the rotation. It was a real sweet shave and I ended up very close to a BBS. Two passes was all it took to mow down the whiskers. I did 20 laps on my Drygulch strop, whipped up a fine lather with Stirling glacial lemon chill and topped it off with a Skin Bracer knock off.

The vanadium has become a favorite of mine as it hones easily, holds a great edge, provides nice feedback, has a nice balance, fits my hand well and gives great shaves. This Genco is a keeper!

This knot is just starting to break in nicely another couple dozen shaves and it should be there. Have a good one.
