What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

G. Johnson, Sheffield. Mowed down a couple days growth. Totally a cold water shave. Not by choice, but the bathroom at the campground didn't have hot water at the sink Really turned out to be quite enjoyable. Really close and comfortable. Looks like this razor and cold water is on the menu the next couple of days

Tonight's shave was with a freshly restored and honed razor. I had a silky smooth 2 pass shave, with BBS results. No touchups needed . Very well built razor.

This razor is on the way to making the first string rotation.Just honed her on Sharpton Glass up to 8K .Then finished on my J-Nat .The razor shaved wonderfully .The edge was keen and smooth .Razor was nibble and a joy to use .Worked extremely well on the chin area .The wedge removed whiskers effortlessly !

 

I went on a camping trip across southern Africa and I wanted to take a straight razor. I ended up taking a DE, but that was out of fear of Johannesburg's notoriously thieving baggage handlers. But still shaving with a DE razor with cold water out of a campground pump in Botswana... I don't think I have hepatitis.

 

Cold water shaves IMO give the best shave

Another old rescue razor. That's almost the only kind that I have!

6/8 Joseph Rodgers with lots of hone wear and ratty original bone scales, but another great day in and day out shaver.

 

I got this lovely razor sight unseen from Larry at Whipped Dog back in January. Today was my third time using it.

Did a full first pass with only one small nick under my nose and a small bit of scraping on my neck. The rest of my shave was using an N-Type Schick Injector. It was a great shave.

 

Torrey Razors are made of very tight grain Pennsylvania steel . They can hold an extremely keen edge .

 

I certainly like the edge on this one. It is a great razor to shave with. It is my first straight.

 

Just jump into the Straights 100% and leave the injectors alone. This will speed up your skills in no time.

 

Well done, it was over a month before I stoped finishing with a DE.

I used my AW Wadsworth this morning and had a real nice 2 pass shave. This is in the top five of my collection of SRs.

Tonight's shave was with a new Rusty Crusty restored razor, Freshly honed. I has a very smooth 2 pass shave that left me nearly BBS. It could have been better, but I was hurried. No Nicks Cuts, or Weeper.
