Got the new Wholly Kaw with donkey milk and it is awesome! 3 days in a row with this one and I just cannot help but grab it again. At first it was like bespoke or Seville mixed with jerym st but as it wore on that jerym st scent just shines through. Anyone else try it and if so what are your impressions? Obsessed with it like I am? 20170519_003419.jpg

    Jim99 Gold Water Shaver

I've been away from this thread for most of the week and I sure did miss a lot of new posts. All the razors on here look fantastic!

I had a chance to use my Charles Adam "faultless" razor this morning and did a two pass shave. It's a wonderful shaver and it left me clean, smooth and close to BBS.

5/8 Russian. It took a second round trip through the hones to get a decent shave. DFS, but not BBS. VERY hard steel, but an uneven spine and resultant bevel. I will probably take it to the hones one more time, and if not up to par then, I will toss it in the "seldom used" box.

Tonight's shave was with a Chinese Straight Razor. If I remember correctly, it cost under $5.00 delivered. I had issues with honing this razor, but since corrected the issues. I had a super smooth 2 pass shave, with BBS results. Only some irritation in one small area, due to a Pakistani razor I tried the night before. Properly honed, this razor can go head to head with some of the best razors out there.

    Razor- Chinese "Gold Dollar 66"
    Brush- B400 By Tom
    Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy
    Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

Drew Dick 5/8 extra hollow with a smile:

When I received this razor and opened the package I was a little disappointed because it is just a 5/8 blade and I prefer big blades with heavy grinds. Over time I found big blades that are full hollow flex too much for my comfort but smaller full hollow blades do not flex and are a pleasure to use. Despite my initial disappointment I kept the razor because it is a looker and I wanted to try an edge with a smile. The more I shave with this razor the more I like it, given it is extra hollow I now think the size and the grind match perfectly. It also takes and keeps a great edge plus the smile is great to shave my neck. This razor is now one of my favorites and I will not part with it.

The Soap Commander Renewal Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #170 Synthetic brush. I did two passes the H. Böker 5/8, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Jim99 Gold Water Shaver

    Razor: Wostenholm "peerless"
    Strop: Drygulch horsehide
    Soap: Stirling glacial lemon chill
    Brush: Jim99 #1 with a Maggards 24mm synthetic
    Aftershave: Skin Bracer knock-off

I had some time this morning to relax, so, instead of my usual two passes, I did a three pass shave. It was so smooth and close that I might say this is the type of shave I wish I could have every day. There was little to no sting from the aftershave. I'm BBS!
