Hey Kevin, I gotta ask...did you ever get a nice edge on the heel of that thing?

I ground the heel down a bit more and got it to a level where it's quite passable. If the edge is hht4 at the toe & belly, I'd give it a hht2 at the heel. No biggie as due to the broad smile, I find myself rarely using the heel end on this Rodgers.

SOTD: Vintage Sheffield 'Horn-of-Plenty' 7/8" near-wedge from William Greaves & Sons 'Sheaf Works.' Wonderful start to the day shaving with this heavy & silent old razor. Quality results.

I've had several Wackers (three I think). Excellent razors.

Impressive shave today from my other birth year Russian. This one is from the STIZ factory. I normally don't think of this razor as one of my better ones. Maybe because the other Russians I have tend to outperform it. But today it whacked the whiskers with great efficiency and left nothing but face rubbing goodness with minimal noise from the alum. :happy088:

Oh wait, this was my first shave with it after refreshing on the Arkie some weeks ago. Mystery solved. :happy036:

First time straight shaving with an official SR. 1 tiny nick. Good response after razorock. Excellent freeze follow up with Crygen. I also receaved in the mail 2 razors i purchased from one of our own and the both cut floating hairs. [IMG]

Tonight's shave was with a French Frameback. I had a very nice and smooth 2 pass shave, that left me with a DFS. Zero issues. The French Framebacks are fun, relatively inexpensive, plentiful, and take on a very nice edge.

Razor- French Frameback. "Veritable Brussard" Qualite Extra
    Brush- Vintage German Boar. "Oceans"
    Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy
    Aftershave- Arctic Blue

Today's shave was with a newly acquired, somewhat restored, and newly honed Sheffield razor. I didn't have a lot of hope for this one, because the Bevel and edge came on rapidly. I thought it must be very soft steel. So, on to the shave. I had an absolutely fantastic 2 pass shave, with little touch-ups. This left me BDBS, with zero issues. This will make my top 10 shaving razors.
After thinking about it. I do remember the blade was almost shave ready when I received it. It was just a mess to look at.

Razor- M.J.Higgins Sheffield. 11/16th inch, 1/2 hollow ground.
    Brush- Omega Boar.
    Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy
    Aftershave- Avon Spicy
