It certainly is. I'd prefer to never use a blade this size had it a sharp point (spike, square or French) or heel. That's asking for trouble. :D
These old makers knew what they were doing...

Good thing it has a barbers notch. I bet it takes both hands to lift it ;)

:signs021: The first time I've heard of that maker, how does it shave?

    Thanks,
Jenes Sándor a guy from Hungary, he did razors for 6-7 years when he was a student at Debrecen Medical University. Last year he graduated from the University and announced that he stopped doing razors. I was lucky, got my razor 2 weeks before his announcement. This was my first custom razor. Very ergonomic, excellent shaves.
I will say more, I have expensive custom razors from the most famous masters in the world, with big names. The razor of this student shaves better and cost 3 times cheaper.
Of course, all of the above is solely my opinion.

Vacation shave today. It's been three days off of shaving, and wow, there sure are a lot of grey hairs, compared to 4 years ago, when I last skipped shaving several days. My 11 yr old daughter complained and pleaded for me not to shave, because she wanted a beard on me. The beard was itching.
So, I used a trusted and very sharp straight, that I didn't mind taking on a trip. I had a Very smooth two pass shave that ended with a near BBS result. There were zero issues, other than trying to find a place to hang the strop. Sorry, no pics on the road.

Razor- Griffon Cutlery Works. Germany. The Barrow & Combstock Co. New London New York. Extra Hollow Ground.
    Brush- Semogue 1800 boar
    Soap- Stirling Ozark Mountain
    Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

Fresh acquisition. Griffon Cutlery Works. This razor cleaned up to an overall mirror finish. It was a joy to hone, and came out with a scalpel sharp, smooth edge.

Are you looking to do it yourself, or have someone do it for you?

Thank guys! It's almost embarrassing how little I paid for this one. It even came with the original box ( you can see the reflection on th eblade). Don't be afraid of American razors, way way under appreciated which keeps the prices low.
