4 days ago this was as sharp as a butter knife. Once i got my Coti I got to work on it. Today I got DFS off this GD66 with no irritation. I think Im loving the coticule. Yes I do own much nicer, much more valuable razors that I could post here, but this is honestly what I shaved with today. Also I won't be honing any of those nicer razors until I am certain of my skills on the stones. GD66 are a good way of getting there. [IMG]

Wade & Butcher. Most of my razors have a laser sharp blade. This one is sharp but "buttah smooth." This gives a bbs shave but probably is the most "comfortable " shaver I have. Kinda weird in a way, but this is the favorite of my Sheffields.

I will always be so jealous of all of your str8's. I have one pretty nice one, but it needs to be honed pretty bad.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Jeff's Soap Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #213 Synthetic brush. I did the first pass with the Fredrick Reynolds 5/8. Because it is SEptember, I did the second pass with the Schick G 66 with a Personna Stainless blade. I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Yes, it's just so easy to take care of, and working the hours I do, easy is best. If I ever hone one of my str8's, it may convince me otherwise! I was actually admiring your working on the gold schick repeater just last night!

I used my Charles Adam "faultless" this morning. Three passes and I'm mostly BBS. It was a very pleasant shave.

Agreed. The GD66 takes a darn fine edge. Surprised me the first time I honed one up. It's a stellar razor to practice on from bevel-set to finish. I'm amazed at the edge these cheap razors take, and they have decent tactile feedback as well. All this for $7.00 delivered from Amazon. How can you complain? Great way to sharpen your honing skills.

Some of them have shoulder issues where you have to grind down the heel or toe shoulders a bit so the blade will lay flat on the stone, but mine have come with these shoulders already ground down. Perhaps they are now doing this for every model at the factory. I may shave with a GD 66 tomorrow now that you have posted yours. An astounding shave for seven bucks to your door! (after you hone and strop that is)

I agree with all but 1 point. I paid $3.20 each delivered to my door. So as you can imagine I ordered 10 of them.

Correct. I was quoting "Amazon Prime 2 Day Shipping" at $7.00. From other suppliers it's even lower as you posted. I actually got one FREE included with a travel strop I purchased. The others I ordered from Amazon directly.
