Also, let us know about your shaving background. Straight Razor shaving is a big topic to discuss. If you are still only shaving with cartridge razors, them maybe you should try a mild Double Edge Razor to ease yourself into Vintage Razor Shaving.

Today's shave was with a newly acquired, and honed, American Made wedge razor. I had a silently sharp, and smooth, 2 pass shave, that left me with a near BBS finish. No touch-ups, and no nicks, cuts, or weepers. Another fantastic shave, from other "Spike" razor.

Razor- Union Cutlery "Spike". Wedge razor. Olean NY.
    Brush- Omega 10098 Boar
    Soap- Arko/Rose scented
Aftershave- Vintage Shulton Old Spice. It use to be a Ships Wheel, $4.99, but now it just looks Phallic. Do you have one of those, @Douglas Carey ??

I've been on a grueling road trip to the east coast and back, starting Thursday afternoon. I haven't shaved the entire time, and looked like a bum:). Whacked off the growth with the Dovo for a bbs finish. Now we're off Yellowstone for a couple weeks:)

Tonight's shave was my second shave with a Stock Gold Dollar W59. The edge it came with is factory, I just stropped it good. I had a super smooth 2 pass shave, that left me with a DFS. I did get poked with the "Crazy Pointed" Spike tip. I also gave myself a tiny slice, on an old scar. Both were my fault. This razor is crazy sharp, and pointed. It requires attention throughout the entire shave. Not very relaxing.

Razor- Gold Dollar W59. I will call it, just plain "Spike".
Brushes- Stirling Boar, and Omega 10066 Boar. Both new, both soft, both $10. Stirling wins on quality and softness.
    Soap- Arko/Rose scented
    Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

I just finished a shave in Badlands NP . I took two straights along on this two week excursion. I'm really glad this one got chosen. This one has to be one of my smoothest shavers I have.

I gotta tell you, I'm surprised that a factory edge from China as Shave worthy! Really cool though! I can definitely imagine poking myself and slicing my upper cheek with the point....

Well, I got poked with the point, and sliced with the middle of the blade. I wasn't even doing a slicing motion, its that sharp. I only lost less than a drop of blood, but it just surprised me. I guess I hit it with a few too many laps, with the chromium oxide strop. "Spike" is definitely going to keep me alert.
