Since my little mishap, I have been a couple of my neglected DE razors. This morning I was up at 4am with nowhere to be so I decided to hone a razor I received last week. The resulting shave was DFS after 3 passes.

    Wilbert Cutlery Co. "High Art"
    Omega 81052 Boar Brush
Wild West Shaving Co "Black Sails"

Indeed! :happy088: I really like the swooping tang and blade shape.
    Mind that heel, however!

Thanks Kevin. I think the tang is my favorite part of this razor. It is very easy to hold.
It hasn’t drawn blood yet, but I am careful with it

Thanks... looking at it this close (in the picture), I now realize it is in need of a little cleanup. Nothing a little metal polish and a soft cloth can brighten up to make it more presentable.
I plan on honing up a new, to me, J.A. Henckel"1070" tonight. It will be my 1st Henckel, but it looks promising.

    Weck U.S. Military Straight
    Personna Super Stainless Hair Shaper
    Gillette NEW LC
    Gillette Silver Blue
    CWR
    Thayer's Peach WH
    Pinaud Vanilla

I used my new to me Weck Sextoblade U.S. Military Straight for the first time. No stropping necessary. I used a Personna Super Stainless Hair Shaper blade. Then, for OCtober, I finished up with my Gillette NEW LC with Jayaruh handle.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Soap Commander Renewal face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #222 synthetic brush. I did the first pass with my Weck U.S. Military straight with a Personna Super Stainless Hair Shaper blade and then clean up with the Gillette NEW LC and Gillette Silver Blue blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Pinaud Vanilla AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Edit: The Weck with the Personna blade provided a very smooth shave. This is a great combination. Back in my army days, I would never have thought of turning it to my face. I shaved many a leg, arm, belly, and nether parts with a Weck. It is an excellent shaver.

Here's my Charles Adam "faultless" and JR 221 brush in action this morning. I whipped up a fantastic lather from my TOBS sandalwood and did three passes for a DFS.

Flic. I cannot give this shaver enough praise. Very cooperative on the hones, it easily takes a laser sharp edge. Was pretty much bbs after two passes. After the third I was "squeaky " smooth:). Great start to the weekend:)

Love that Greaves Wedge.I have an 8/8.It is one of my favorites. There is something special about Greaves Steel. They seem to take an extremely smooth and keen edge. The only other manufacture that comes close IMHO is Fenney Tally Ho.Not saying the other Sheffield makers are sub par .Just that the Greaves seems to produce an extremely comfortable and sharp edge.
