What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Could you please explain you "Bad Advice" you got, regarding using the Arkansas Stones? Also, what you do now, that works, in the Arkie Thread? I am curious, and others need to know what the good and bad advices are.

That is such a nice looking razor!

 

Tonight's shave was with a Japanese Folding Kamisori. I had a very nice 2 pass shave, that left me with a DFS. Zero issues.

Razor- Japanese: Suzuki No1. Asymmetrical Folding Kamisori.
Brush- B400 By Tom
Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice.

 

Forgot about this one... Very smooth. Last of the Cat. I'm ready for bed now.

Berkshire Cutlery 5/8 I actually think I put the first edge on this one. It looked brand new when I got it. Simple, but lovely shaver.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Pharaoh's Dreamsicle Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #18 silvertip badger brush. I did two passes with the Luxor Pro Master Razor with Shark Super Chrome blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pharaoh's Dreamsicle AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Tweaked the black arkie again last night and took it backwards. The edge was not quite what it should have been but I didn't strop the edge either.
The not stropping wasn't intentional I just spaced it out. So... you could say I didn't learn much. Have a good one.

This razor surprised me .Just came in the other day from France.All she need was a quick refresh on an Escher .Blade had a lot more weight than I would have thought .Had great balance and handled well.Edge was great and Shave was outstanding .Glad I bid on her.
