I’ve heard nothing but positive things about the Austs. I have to agree about the value; very inexpensive for the quality.

Thiers Issard Bison 6/8. A really wonderful blade on this one. A noisy bugger too :)

I had a very pleasant and close two pass shave with my AW Wadsworth this morning.

Decent shave, the edge requires a little work. It's not quite where it should be. I set the bevel with a old Norton Queer Creek and I feel it's finer grit than I would normally use for bevel setting. I never cared much for my synthetic Simpsons and have found out it's a much better brush than I originally thought. I'll use it daily for awhile and see if it moves up in the food chain. Have a good one.

The rest of the story. My son called last night and invited us down to SC where he and his wife were running in the Swamp Rabbit Half Marathon. We had to get up at 6 AM, and I had scheduled the Fredrick Reynolds 5/8 straight for today's shave. I did my two pass shave in about 10 minutes with no issues. We got down to Travelers Rest with about 15 minutes to spare. We watched the beginning of the race, traveled to about the middle and watched as they ran by, and ended up at the finish line to watch them finish. My son finished in 1 hour 59 minutes and his wife in 2 hours 15 minutes. I beat them both because I drove. Beautiful day here in the Cackalackies.

Tonight's shave was with a freshly restored and honed razor. I had a super smooth, 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. I have a couple of these Shapleigh razors, and they never disappoint.

Razor- Norvell-Shapleigh HDWE Co. "SNAP" #35. St Louis Germany.
    Brush- B400 By Tom
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood scented
    Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy

Nice shave this morning. I took it back to the stones and had a very nice edge this morning. IMO, this Cashmere is a pretty nice knot. 2 weeks until retirement and was asked Friday to continue as a consultant, don't want to do it. Which means I'll be in charge of the complaint dept., regularatory compliance, and construction projects.

Very nice looking toys, Adam. Welcome to "The Dark Side", of the Shave Den. Why don't you wander over to the Welcome Section, and introduce yourself.

Finally got around to the Crown & Sword. I like the size and balance of this one. Think I will return to it a lot. This and the Heljestran #4 I used a couple days ago might be a couple that I go with often.

Sticking with both the Japanese razor and keep it challenging themes...
Razor: “resized” Hisihosi 500 frameback. Saved’ish but now less than the length of a DE blade.
Brush: recently adopted @Jayaruh JR#263 - maiden voyage... Just awesome!
    Soap: Fine Santal Absolut
A/S: Pre de Provence No 63
    DC525A99-4931-4DED-A1FD-884036E1F877.jpeg
Challenging in that I have to use it more like an unfolding Kami and it just feels weird. Constantly fighting it :duel:but still fun.
    Enjoy your shave!
