Lindyhopper- Love the Speick! Why don't I use mine more... Try the bath bar...great soap! Kevin- Best of luck under the knife. Get back soon . TSimmons- Which Vie-Long is that? My only VL is the Zurito Blanco, which is one of my favorite brushes. And treasure that Wosty...I'd trade any razor I have for one either of my grandfathers had owned. Enjoy it. O11- "Nev-A-Hone"! That's freakin awesome! And slightly magical...2
The Vie-Long is a 12705, with my only other brush being a Wilkinson Sword synthetic the Vie-Long is my favorite brush. The Wosty is and always will be a very special razor. Not only did it belong to my Grandfather, it was also my first straight. As my collection grows, I might find better razor, but I don't think I'll find one I treasure more.
Cheers It's my very favourite razor I haven't seen another early Filarmonica 14 Especial possibly early 1940s maybe earlier in this kind of condition I would say it's almost mint came to me via a contact from where she was made in Barcelona, they say the Especials are the original EPBD before they started giving them fancy scales and rubber tang grips, it is such a fine razor and it holds an edge forever I can't remember when I last honed the razor.
Today I used one of my hart razors. This is a Terry Vannorman 6/8 custom with Micarta scales that have an interesting notch for the thumb and finger. I love how it handles and shaves but as you can see it is a pain to strop http://www.classicshaving.com/hart-...ales-terry-vannorman-custom.html#.VCgQIJV0zm4
6/8 Wacker MWF homemade boar (Semogue 2000 knot) I've been getting into the MWF lately, just a nice, good soap. Nice shave this morning. Have a good one. Good luck Kevin.
Boker 5/8 Good as Gold. Half hollow grind I think, at least that'd be in keeping with charts like this Dovo - Half or full, I'm not too bothered. It's a very comfy lil' shaver.
A nice one today with the CVH that needed some resurrecting after "The Great Display Case Catastrophe"...First go with this little Plymouth after re-knotting. Very sweet little brush.
It's the MK No. 33 Jamie. Originally ~22 mM, after honing out the chips and dings, probably more like 19mM. Scales are gorgeous unblemished wafer thin ivory. I can't believe they survived a fall that took three 2 to 3 mM dings out of the steel it was attached to... Yup. Sorry to do this, my friend: http://theimperialshave.com/wacker-...-french-tip-decorated-beveled-spine-6-8-plus/ get your wallet ready...
6/8 Prior Cold River homemade boar Set up the light box for the up coming winter. Good shave this morning. One pass shave today as I didn't have enough beard to warrant 2. Have a good one.
