Every once in a while I let the beard go for a week or so. Seems like there is nothing more satisfying than taking a straight to some more substantial growth. Just Slices right through effortlessly when the blade is right. [IMG]

Still wasn't happy with the edge and rehoned and finished with a Charnley Forest, superb edge this morning. Have a good one.

Today's shave was with a Boston made razor. I had good 2 pass shave, that left me with a DFS. Zero issues. This is a very sharp razor, but for some reason, it just feels off. I might take it back and refinish it on a few finishers, and see if that wakes it up.

Razor- "The Diamond". Diamond Razor Co. Boston Mass. USA.
    Brush- Omega Boar
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood scented
    Aftershave- Florida Water

Wade & Butchet 5/8. I don’t reach for this one often. It doesn’t look like much, but I forgot just how smooth and comfortable this blade shaves. Some Jeeves bay rum lather topped off with VIBR made for an excellent shave.

I used my Genco “fluid steel” this morning. It felt more like sandpaper. Now I remember why I put this razor aside a couple of months ago. It definitely needs a refresh.

Nice shave with one of my birth year Russians - very sharp. However, the STIZ seems less smooth compared to the ZTV and I’m wondering if it would change if I finish on a different stone? :signs002:

My shave this morning was probably the closest of 2018 .This razor was finished on a Couticle followed by a Yellow Lake (Thanks Billy for sharing this honing combo). I think the super keen edge and the top tier soap from Grooming Department made my best shave of the year possible.I will be buying more Tallow based soap from Grooming Department .

Tonight's shave was with a razor that came from China. It's been a solid performer, that will hold up to anything else I have. All for a couple of dollars. I had a fantastic 2 pass shave- that left me BDBS. Excellent steel, and excellent razor, with the proper edge put on it.

    Razor- Gold Dollar 66. China
    Brush- Omega Boar
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
    Aftershave- Arctic Blue
