They are alright, but I really prefer older razors, with a little more character.

I wanted to use my custom ShaveSmith... woke up to a wet sink this morning and now rust all over the razor:sad024: just sent it out for repairs of which Chris was happy to do. I ended up using my vintage W. Greaves and sons with some barrister and Mann Lavanille

Freshly honed Gebrüder Weyersberg 6114 Cornet... 13/16” hollow grind.

    A/S: Fine Lavender Pour Homme

So that trademark got me for a bit- I was looking up horn, bugle, trumpet... finally found he trademarked Cornet.

As I was researching, I really started to like this guy! He also trademarked Submarine & Peral, which is one of the first electric powered submarine designs. I need to search for one of those!!!
    Enjoy your shave!

Yesterday a Pipe razor and today a Coronet. This one looks factory fresh, any idea to it's date.

Keith, I would love to take credit for the Pipe razor, but that beauty was Scott’s :happy088:. As far as the Weyersberg, it looks like his name was registered in 1899, but I can’t find dates for his other marks. I would guess it was manufactured in the 20’s or 30’s. This one didn’t take much cleaning at all - it was in very nice condition.

Today's shave was with a razor "I" just plain think is cool. Well, at least the Bow stamped on it is. I had a silky smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. No touch-ups. This is a real performer.

Razor- "Bow Razor", by Wade & Butcher.
Brush- JR#262. Ebony and Birdseye Maple wood. Whipped Dog Silvertip Badger.
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice. Ships Lantern Decanter.

    Hart Steel 7/8

Sometimes the Hart razors get panned and criticised for their scales too. I have 3 and all take nice edges and I never had an issue with the razors. This one is my favorite a big 7/8 with a heavy grind, it takes a nice edge, easy to maintain or hone and provides an enjoyable shave. The scales are not refined or classy, they are kind of crude but it adds to the charm.
