What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Thank You..Dans Stones Come Lapped Flat..They Just Need a Few Minutes with a Fine Grit Wet n Dry..I Used 350/1000 Grit..I Took this Razor off at 16 K Cause its a Sheffield Blade..This Stone has a 20 K Finishing Capacity..They are Not Slow if You Put Down a Higher Grit Edge on them as a Pre Finisher..I Put Down a 16 K Synthetic Lapping Film Edge..

There is So Much Slow Mo Guff Written about Em in Forums..Takes a Few Minutes is All..Its How You Use Em..

Tanifuji Cape 1000 on shave #25 for Easter morning. Joyeuses Pâques à tous! The soap is unscented XPEC hand-scented with Domenico Caraceni 1913 and lathered up with a pretty little Tulip 2. Finished the shave off with D. R. Harris Pink AS.

Do you use oil with the stone?

 

7/8 Dorko I needed to be clean shaven for Easter .So I broke out the 7/8 Dorko .She was recently refreshed on an Escher and Yellow Lake hone .She gave me a just about perfect shave .The blade edge is extremely keen and smooth .She is one of my favourites .My only other blades that can surpass her would be my Tiger,and a few of my Swedish and Japanese treasures .

How do you find your Kent BLK12 I have a love hate relationship with it. Mine is 6mos old and had it in daily use for about a month or 2. I find that I loose one or 2 Bristol’s everytime and the hairs feel like they are breaking. Like a dry feeling. Nothing like it was new but still feels great on the skin... lather hog in my opinion lol.

I Use Bisley Gun Oil..Its a 3 n 1 Type Oil..Like Honing on Glass..

I always get a better shave with near wedge or heavier grinds. I’m not opposed to full hollow or extra hollow I just don’t get the shave I get from the wedge.

Very nice looking blade.

 

I am definitely going to have to get one of these for my collection .

 

Thank you sir, it’s a very plain or conservatively styled razor, plain black scales and no blade decoration, but a Swedish steel Japanese razor is hard to beat for its intended purpose.

Well Karl G got me digging in the razor stash for one of my own swayback English shorties and I had a superb shave this morning. It's a Wostenholm Celebrated IXL in the original horn scales honed on a stellar jnat and lathered up with Acqua di Parma cream. Those whiskers just jumped off my face in fear before the razor ever touched them... lol.
