Castle Forbes is an outstanding cream in every way. It provides a slick, wet lather with cushion and the scents are all very nice. The seats are linear in that they are not complex. It is still an excellent value, I am a four pass shaver so I tend to load heavy but with CF it only requires just a small pea size scoop to produce copious lather. It last 2 to 3 times longer than other creams for me. Personal I feel that it is worth it, on price per shave basis compared to other top creams it does not cost more on this basis.

Thank you - Dorko really hit it out of the park with this one IMO.

Keith, I’ve had it for about 2 years, original scales, but had to perform a little “plastic surgery” when I got it, as it came with some pretty visible hone wear... so I got it for a good price :).

Tried something different- covered the bottom 3/4 of the blade face with electrical tape and went to town hand sanding near the spine, starting with 220 and working up to 2500. Got rid of the hone wear, didn’t screw up the geometry, and it honed up nicely and shaves great.

Yesterday's shave was with the Gold Rex touched up on a Nakayama kiita, SNM was lathered with a Simpsons 58 with a Heritage-like knot, Harris Pink was the AS of choice. Shave was a perfect 10.

The Sunday shave went to the Le Grelot Lotus, SNM lathered with a 3-band HMW and Harris Pink again got the final honors. Yesterday's shave was so good why chamge a good thing?

    Cheers, Steve

    Best Shave Ever!
Strop: Castle Shave 3” English bridal
    Brush: Shavemac 28mm D01 custom
    Soap: Wholly Kaw Padre Leone
Razors: 2 7/8 W&B Barbers Rattlers with custom Buckeye scales
    Bowl: Castle Shave lather bowl
    Aftershave: Padre Leone

Amazing Soap! Such an easily lovable scent. He scents are mild and perfect for the summer. The Rattlers were just picked up today from a new acquaintance with a remarkable collection! Had a great long chat about different razors and honing techniques which is why I had both Rattlers out. One had an Escher edge and the other a Coticule edge, they were very sharp but both comfortable. I always enjoy trying other people’s edges to compare to my own. Performance of wholly Kaw never lets me down! Think I could have comfortable done a 3 pass shave on 2 others with what was left over. Residual slickness never fails! And the scents are nearly impossible to not like. Simple but different at the same time nothing over the top and very similar in away to an MDC soap. Which I [IMG]now have a sample of thanks to him!
