W & B 13/16 "Rattler" or " Faux Frameback"...whichever one prefers I suppose. Another excellent shave on a beautiful autumn Saturday morning. Have a good 'un... :chores016:

GREAT news! Like I said, mine was close, but definitely needed some love to "get there". I took mine back to 1k, set my bevel with minimal strokes, then up through 12k and a light finish on a Nakayama. A few strokes linen, a few suede, and 60 laps on the Kanayama smooth. I'll use it tonight, I suspect it's going to be right on time ;).

So how do you like the apache finisher?any better than what you using before?

I've only done a few razors with apache so the jury is far from concluding the deliberation. ;)
The stone has a nice feel, and the edges I've gotten off it have been comfortable (and sharp). more testing to do, but so far it has been a decent finisher.
I cannot feel the subtleties or nuances of an edge on my face in order to distinguish between this stone or that— I just know when the razor provides a comfortable shave or NOT.

Nice shave this morning. I always enjoy using wedges, I don't know why I don't use them more often. Have a good one.

What is the grit level of the Apache? I haven't heard of this one. More information, please.

    Nippon-ichi

Nippon-chi means Japan first or Japan number one. I don't know what the maker name is since I can't read kanji.

Mike, this is one I shaved with when I first got it and thought it a bit rough and touched it up with lapping film. What a great shave today.

Supposedly 10-12k—but being an natural, there is always some fudging of numbers. Very hard natural stone that some folks have gotten some quite good results. One-man show…

First time with the über-sharp Spike. One of the best shaves I've had in some time!

    Howdy folks:
Shaver)5/8 Worsty celebrated i*xl,'46 aristocrat for cleanup
    Brush) VDH Boar
    Shave oil) AOS sandalwood,shave secret
Shave stick) King R.Emporium by How to grow a mustache ( for razor emporium)
Aftershave) Ogalalla Bay rum sage & cedar

First time with my worsty all went well (honed and repinned by GSSixgun).
I was very surprised how well that little blade shaved very easy on the skin and overall very easy to shave with
I opened up some nicks & cuts from my last few shaves but no new ones this go around
1 N-S pass trimmed my goatee no problem and neck no razor burn and then just a one pass clean up with DE shaver.

I want to plug the shave stick from razor emporium for those who use sticks it is a must try
I get a very rich and creamy lather with a very silky cushion I like it every bit as much as Arko as far as performance. It has a very pleasant scent I will order it again 2 sticks for 9.95 1.8g each.
I do not give kudos' often however this soap does get one.

I pulled out the George Wostenholm Celebrated today, hopefully done with 12 hour days and can get back to more frequent use with my straights.
