GD66 that's held it's edge for a month. I face shave every other day. That's about 15 shaves and going strong! *happy dance*

Tonight's shave was with a well respected razor, that bits back, now and again. I had a beautifully smooth 2 pass shave, until I saw a trickle of blood down the cheek. The tip got me again. This razor did give me a BDBS shave, along with a small cut. Damn sharp razor, especially the tip, to the point of being scary.

Razor- "Respect 4". Best Silver Steel. Extra Hollow Ground. Germany.
    Brush- Omega 10098, Boar.
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
Aftershave- Avon Old Spice "Burley". Very Very Manly scented. But, not overdone.

    Cold Water Wash
    De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap
    Alpha T-400 Silvertip Badger
    Wade & Butcher 5/8
    CWR
    Clubman Pinaud AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Alpha T-400 Silvertip Badger brush. I did two passes with the Wade & Butcher 5/8 and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Clubman Pinaud AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

9D558E12-B476-49C9-BCCC-31377E504049.jpeg I spent several hours this morning honing a Thiers Issard razor that had intimidated me from a honing standpoint until today. (I bought it from a guy on a BST who said it was it shaved him poorly.) Victory and an excellent shave ensued.

Friedr. Baurmann & Sohne “Comfort “ shorty

    My theory on shorties:
    Fun to make
    Easy to hone
Any shorter than this 1.75” length and not that fun to shave with :)

When this short, I find it easiest to use the scales like a non-folding Kamisori for the WTG passes. Trying to hold it normally tends to rotate the point inward... not good.

    Just my thoughts.
    Enjoy your shave!
