What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Today's shave was very relaxing, I needed it. I had a perfectly smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Zero issues. This razor is a fantastic shaver, and takes on a wicked edge.

Razor- "Snap No.35", by Norvell-Shapleigh HDWE Co. St Louis-Germany.
Soap- Arko/Sandalwood Scented
Brush- JR#262, Birdseye Maple/Ebony, with a WD Silvertip Badger Knot
Aftershave- Vintage Shulton Old Spice

Halloween Shave

This razor just destroyed the whiskers .BBS in no time .

 

Tonight's shave was with a Japanese Razor. I had a very nice 2 pass shave, that left me with a DFS. Two small weepers, but it was my fault. Halloween, and the doorbell was going off. So, I had to run down stairs, and hurry up.

My first shave with the new Dovo Masters. (For those interested, SRD is running a 40% off their whole site, so you will not find a professionally honed Dovo at a better price). Anyway, I don't buy in to the theory that soaps are seasonal. However, there are a few exceptions, and Pumpkin Spice is one of those. I just don't see it as being anything but a fall scent, so as a result, this sample doesn't get much use. Too bad, because it's freaking awesome! In fact, for the kind of lather I like (slick, but with some body to it), the wide variety of really excellent, bold scents, and the value for the money, no one approaches Stirling. No one. After trying and reviewing many, many, soaps I keep coming back to Stirling and am never disappointed with the experience

 

Just a quick update, no image because it would just look like the others. Shave #30 on the Filly 14 DT edge longevity test and still shaving smoothly. I added 20 canvas to the 35/65 suede/cordovan after shave #21. I’m probably at the halfway mark if it performs like the Cape 1000 Swedish Steel.

I’ve been refreshing this Filly with three laps of red paste after a shave. I’m switching it to 10 of green. This baby has just gotten too sharp.
