Simmons Hardware 6/8 Hornet, AoS sandalwood lathered with a Rooney 3/2 Heritage 3-band, and topped off with D. R. Harris Pink. I am smelling good...

    5/8 T.I. MOP scales
    Tabac
    Tabac aftershave
homemade brush with a Shavemac ST Finest Fan knot
Nice shave. I'm very comfortable with this T.I. I don't know if a straight razor can be forgiving but for me this is a razor that would qualify. I really enjoyed Tabac with the AS, I've never had both before. Have good one.

This shave was a little rough. Looks like I will need to touch it up.

First shave with this one. I just finished fully restoring it, and honing it. This has an unusual edge, to me. It is a 1/4 Hollow Grind, but tapers off, to a very thin edge, about 1/16 is very thin. This makes it a very stiff blade, like a wedge, but some flexibility, like a Full Hollow grind. In the end, it takes on a wickedly sharp edge. I had a very very smooth 2 pass shave, on two days growth, that left me BBS. My new favorite razor.

    Razor- C-MON, by Carl Monkhouse.
Brush- JR#262(@Jayaruh ), WD Silvertip Knot
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood Scented
    Aftershave- Vintage Shulton Old Spice.

Thank you. It was a scary restore. The pins didn't want to come out, and I feared breaking the scales.

    That is a good photo @Spyder !

This morning is just damp and grey, so some cheer was in order. Today was the Filly 14 user grade, soap is Martin de Candre lavender lathered with a dense white Simpsons 58. This brush reminds me very much of vintage Rooney 3-band Heritage hair, though it does not bloom as much. MdC lavender is lovely especially after the benzoin airs out a bit, a soft, non-camphorous lavender with a bit of a ‘nutty’ scent, very spring-like. A splash of Thayers lavender toner topped it off, and a bit of Cade ASB on drydown made for a fine shave.

    Cheers, Steve
