    Love that Doucheuse Tom, I have a weakness for the old French framebacks.

    Yesterday’s shave was a taste of France, one of a cased pair of 6/8 ivory Le Gelot Lotus, soap was MdC vetyver followed by a bit of Dior Eau Sauvage balm.

    20190228_182256.jpg I just received my 8/8 Friedr Herder Square Point from Ebay. This vintage straight razor was shave ready. I didn't strop it and went straight to shaving. It was the best straight shave that I have attained. BBS after 2 passes and touchups.

    Today's razor is my Mike Martinez Karasu, a 9/8 heavy grind smiling monster. Every razor has it's sound when it shaves, usually a heavy grind like this is silent but this one while not loud does sing. The odd thing it is almost an octave higher than my full hollows, a high pitched sound of velcro being pulled apart.

    Thursday's Shave
    5/8 Royal Razor Japan Made from Swedish Steel

    Was in the mood to use a Japanese blade.Had a fantastic shave with this blade .Was dolphin smooth in no time .The razor has had a lot of previous use .I know why . Great steel that takes a very keen and smooth edge .

    Beautiful pick up Joe. I’m a big fan of those Herders... I may know a guy who has that same razor in the white scales. ;)
