What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Perfect shave today. From a restored German razor. I had a super smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Excellent handling, not to mention it took a killer edge.

Razor- "Gold Bug", A.Witte, Germany.
Brush- JR#262. Ebony/Birdseye Maple. WD Silvertip.
Soap- ARKO/Sandalwood.
Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

 

Some bling for Friday. Edward Brice 7/8 half hollow with a smile.

Beautiful razor and very cool watch, Keith!

 

I took the new to me Hart Steel out for it's first run this morning. I'm not sure if it was the extra weight of the razor, exceptional lather I got from the MdC, the newness causing me to pay extra attention, or if it was the honing I put on it yesterday, or most likely a combination of the above, but the results of todays shave were nothing less than superb. Effortless... smooth... irriation free.

It's only one use, but I really like the bigger razor. Happy Friday to all.

 

Did a test honing last night on my worn 6/8 Hayashi user, so it was up this morning. Soap was MdC agrumes lathered with a TOBS brush, and a little dab of l’Occitane en Provence Cedrat AS made for a very nice finish.

Nice shave this morning with a new to me razor. The edge was touched up on a Charnley Forest and it gave a good one pass shave.

Slightly off topic, but still straight razor related: It’s amazing what you can do with an old shelf, a stainless steel tube, some stainless deck screws and the right tools...

Second shave with my SK-3. This is a full hollow, the only full hollow smiling razor I have. A joy to shave with and makes shaving my neck a breeze.

 

I’ll break out the other one again one of these days
