Honed the Lisbon on a series of Shapton Glass ending up with a light green finisher from Takeshi. I used medium slurry and the shave was exceptionally good, but maybe it could be a smidge smoother, so I may go back and use thinner slurry or just add a few clear water strokes and see what that does..

Took the beat up Herder 76 to the stones after a few days of plastic surgery. :)

Went with the Suehiro 1k for the bevel set and then turned to the Suehiro 6k for refinement and start to the polish... such a versatile stone for me. Went straight from water only passes on the 6k to the pictured Thuringian. It does seem like big jumps, but it works.
    Happy honing.

    Interesting

I have always ended up on a Comfortable Coticule finisher for these really old ones, might have to give my Nakayama a try on the next one

There’s nothing wrong with a really good coti finish, smooth edges for sure. The green stone is fairly new and I have one that I think is better so the Lisbon might get treated to that one.

Today, a M. K. 133 prototype in ivory, soap was MdC agrumes lathered with an Eagle 3, and a splash of Myrsol limon finished up a perfect shave.

I couldn’t see signs of even a factory bevel on this one, but it set very quickly and easily.
Suehiro 1k to the 6k to the Thuringian... fast.

Zazadze “Paul” 89 through its paces.
Same Suehiro 1k to 6k, but turned to this darker, almost black Thuringian.

Going to take a few blades through this progression to see how it compares to its sister Thuri.
    Happy honing.

Increasing my sample size for the black Thuringian. ;)
    H. & J.W. King and 2 Wostenholm Pipe razors to give me a better feel for what this thing can do. Suehiro 1k & 6k for the lead up to this finisher.

That’s an interesting Thuri Tom, what are the edges like?

I’m just having a little fun tonight, the stone is a bit of an odd duck, on the thin slurry that I usually hone on, it makes an almost shavette type edge, very sharp and smooth, but better mind your Ps and Qs while shaving. So I raised a bit more slurry and was careful not to dilute it to much. The stone absorbs little water so little dilution was needed. The razor is a 13/16 Tanifuji Favorit, quite hollow for a Japanese razor, and a beautiful razor too. Shave tomorrow.

Jury is still out on it, but last night's Pipe razor was nice. I have 3 more of these edges to go for the week.
I don't know whether it is dark blue or black, but it does seem a little less "creamy" than the lighter colored stone. Still a nice feeling while honing, but I now remember why I gravitate to the lighter stone.

Shifted to a Charnley Forest for these two... a rescaled Pipe razor and the most recent 14, German Hoppe.
Suehiro 1k then 6k, threw the Naniwa 8k Snow White in for the 14, and then finished with the pictured CF.

The big Gervais was looking at me funny and wanted a picture taken with Snow White. :)

Same as the 14... Suehiro 1k to 6k to Naniwa 8k to Charnley Forest. Made me smile.

    Not an actual hone.
Just a synthetic material rigid as stone but way lighter.
I use it to have a flat spot where to use lapping films.
AlOx is a great abrasive, with precise micron partition.
    Today an easy progression 3 / 1 / 0,5 mic or 8K / 12K / 15K grit.

I had the Bruno Blades Alien out to send an image, so I decided to touch it up and shave with it tomorrow.
