What Straight Razor Have You Honed Lately????

Finished this kikubushi today , this one challenged me quite a bit, and I don't think it's quite to my standards yet however it delivered a damn fine shave , sent it thru a shapton progression 1k thru 5k , moved over to the aiwiitani for a nagura work over and finished on some tomo slurry.

 

Had a nice honing session with this gorgeous H. Diamond. It went through the shapton progression 1k thru 8k , moved to the awiitani for a full nagura progression and finished on some heavenly tomo slurry made for a effortless bbs shave.

 

Sent this y.s.s razor across the stones yesterday, started with a shapton progression 1k thru 8k. Then onto the brick of a jnat for a nagura progression and finished on my "heavenly tomo slurry". Made for truley sticky edge almost tedious , that said it gave a effortless bbs shave!

 

Finished honing this guy up last night, this swedish steel azuma took a phenomenal edge with a near perfect kazumi finish. Went with a shapton progression 1k thru 8k, then onto my brick of a jnat for a full nagura progression, finished it off on shobu tomo slurry.

 

Hoshi tombo 8500. Put this thru a shapton progression 1k to 5k, went to the aiwiitani for a nagura progression finished with heavenly tomo slurry. This edge was insane and was down right tedious but man did it fly through my beard. Under the loupe I ended up with a truly beautiful kazumi finish that I only wish I could capture a pic of!

 

Put a gorgeous looking edge on this micor 3000 folding kamisori tonight, started with a shapton progression 1k thru 8k, moved over to the brick of a jnat for a nagura progression! Hoping to shave with it this weekend at somepoint if it shaves as good as it looks I think I'm in for a treat!

 

Put this dorko across the stones for a guy . Went through a shapton progression 1k thru 8k, moved over to my big green brick just for a a full nagura progression and finished on shobudani tomo slurry , the edge has a wonderful kazumi finish and should shave like a dream! I also finished honing a king heart Columbia, went thru the same progressions as above and ended up with a awesome edge , will shave tomm with it but i have zero doubts its gonna blow me away

 

Henkotsu kamisori went across the stones last night, shapton 1k thru 5k, then went to the aiwiitani for a nagura progression, finished on some fresh cut tomo slurry that I'm currently testing , I'm just gonna call it mizu tomo for now. The edge looks stellar and was left with a stunning kazumi finish

 

Finished up the royal razor tonight! This gorgeous Japanese swedish steel gem took a wonderful looking edge with a near perfect kasumi finish. Went thru the shapton progression 1k thru 8k , moved to brick jnat for a nagura progression and then finish on some mizu tomo slurry. So far from my testing these tomos I cut are winners! More on that tomm when this puppy gets to fly threw some whiskers!

Finished up a mighty sharp looking razor today! A kikubushi Orion, my hopes are really high for this one! Went thru the same shapton progression 1k thru 8k, then to my brick jnat for a nagura work over! Under the loupe the edge looks flawless , will have results Sunday!

 

Finished this big ole beautiful tosuke last night, went with my same shapton progression and jnat nagura progression. This razor delivered the goods!
