What to do with a cracked blade?

    I like the "shorty" idea. A short blade can be a good thing to do sideburns or trim up a beard.

    Well, there must have been something about this on my mind after reading the posts because while cleaning up a vintage blade last night the 1/4" at the end broke off.

    Now I need someone who can grind the blade down just a bit so that it can still be used. Can any of you grind a blade?

    Guess I am a little late to this thread. Just noticed it skimming google. Cut off wheel on a dremel, while blade sits in a puddle of water on your bench. If the water steams, add more. You might be surprised shaving with a quality shorty, especially around that beard. And those scales are now almost the right size for the shorty blade. A little light hand polishing might help to determine just where the crack leads. Hope you didn't already toss it.
