Of course, who could ever forget the famous "bag of glass" toy?

I had a set of yard darts. I remember throwing them underhand way high and then running under the deck. They were a dangerous toy though. People got careless and caviler.

My son will be posting this a favorite when he is older. We just built this. One of those kits you get at Lowe's. I am very worried. The set makes 2 catapults and he is looking for small things to launch. This is where some parental discretion comes in. ;) But a fun toy!

This really isn't a toy, but a wonderful childhood memory. I never think about Jiffy Pop often, but it is still made and still popular to a certain degree. I have bought it a few times and my kids loved watching it pop! (And so did I! ;) ) I remember the few times my parents got it when I was a kid...I loved watching it pop. And it is good popcorn! So go out and grab some for you and your kids/grandkids to enjoy.

Oh man, that does bring back memories! Making jiffy pop on a cold winter's afternoon ... usually done lashed to an iron fire poker over the fire in our living room (in the fireplace, of course!).

We had a large box of Lego building blocks and my brother and me made all sorts of buildings. Sometimes with cunning secret passageways, hidden doors and trap doors.

This is what I spent most of my childhood playing with:

Fun times, and I enjoyed reminiscing out in my back yard.
Unfortunately, Luke Skywalker dropped by and since old habits never die...

Come to think of it. I have probably spent most of my adult life on Star Wars as well.

Well, I won the auction I was watching! There was only one bid and I bid 25 seconds before it ended. (I'm a lurker :) ) The 1979 Tonka Hand Commander, just like the one i had when I was 5 came today. Of course I mainly got it for my son. Both my son and daughter enjoy it. My son was flying all through the house when I got home. I am jealous! I can only play with it most likely when he is sleeping! :) Here is a pic I thought I would share.
