My Dad was on the design team for the first Philishave razor, in Holland, so in my house, electric was in. I did not even try a wet shave until a very brief, painful experience with a Gillette Techmatic in 1973. (Everyone thought I had some terrible acne, due to the nicks I got over a few days). I then grew a large beard, until about 1997. I gravitated to the multi blade cart thing until November 2014, when I decided that there was a better way. I was suggested to purchase the Lord L6, as I was not too flush with money, and had no idea that there were a few stores in Edmonton that actually sold DE razors. I could not wait for the Lord to come in, so I found a Schick Krona in an antique store..... and the rest is history.... all 6 months of it.
My first razor that I bought was a Sensoe Excel in '91. My first Straight was a Dovo Carbon Steel 5/8 razor about 3 years ago. My first DE was an Edwin Jagger DE89 about 2 months ago. I know, the order is all out of whack. But I got the straight as a curio piece and ended up liking it. I got into DE's after I went cartridge shopping for my Fusion and was disgusted by the prices.
I thought this was a first satfety razor thread. In that case I have no idea, maybe Mach 3 but I am not certain.
I first bought a Trac II, I have to guess. somewhere around 79/80. shortly after,I got a brass razor and brush. I've still got the razor and brush, the stand went away.
A Schick Injector, probably an I since that was the one on the market at the time. Bought it about 1956 or 1957 when I started shaving.
